Tiwahe Lodge #45 was formed when Ashie Lodge merged with Pang Lodge #532 in 1992. Tiwahe is Lakota for Family. The totem is the Red Tailed Hawk. The 4 and 5 for Tiwahe were taken from the 4 and 5 in the two merged lodges. Harry Bakken was the last Lodge Chief of Ashie, 436. Jason Jackson was the last Lodge Chief of Pang. Tiwahe Lodge currently has nine chapters acting within the lodge: Allohak, Bitani, Elauwit, Hadaazli-to, Kah-Shinni, Naabaahii, Pischk, Shash-Tsoh, and Wulinaxin. Pang Lodge #532 was formed in the Fall of 1958. The first Ordeal Candidates were inducted at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona by Wipiali Wiki. Pang was part of Area XIIF until 1970 when it became part of Area XIIA and in 1772 with the changes to Sections, Pang became part of the W4B Section. While part of the 12-F, it supplied two Area Chiefs, oe of whom was elected for two terms. Pang Lodge had three chapters which were widely seperated by desert. Elauwit was located in the Imperial Valley, Memecus was located in Blythe/Parker and Nianque was located in Yuma. The Pang Lodge totem was the Big Horn Sheep. The Lodge symbol was appropriately a ram. |
